Dean to Withdraw from Racing for 2011

21st January 2011

Reigning Formula 2 Champion Dean Stoneman will be withdrawing from the 2011 Renault World Series season due to illness.

Dean will concentrate his complete attention on returning to full health after being diagnosed with testicular cancer earlier this week. Specialists have made the diagnosis early and are confident that he will make a full recovery, with treatment scheduled to begin with immediate effect.

As on the track, Dean is determined to beat the illness and the 20 year old is already looking at sporting heroes like Lance Armstrong for inspiration in a bid to get back on track as soon as possible.

The Stoneman family have requested that their privacy be respected at this time.
